Ancient country residence with a tower on the border between Tuscany and Umbria, at about 20 km from Cortona and Montepulciano and 10 km from lake Trasimeno, easily connected to the best touristic itineraries of both Southern Tuscany and Umbria and surrounded by the most enchanting landscape of vineyards and olive groves.
Its oldest part comes from the Middle Age, and it is known that Santa Margherita (patron saint of Cortona) lived here in the XIII century. The little chapel is still a holy place. The owner is a sculptor and his artwork is spread through the house: this is a place for art lovers. For the guests, on the first floor, 4 double rooms (one with twin beds) all with en suite bathrooms, can accommodate 8 guests and a sitting room with coffee and tea facilities, and a collection of art books.
On the ground floor there is a large hall with a piano and a peaceful garden with a patio and bbq, open for the guests.
A small village is just one km away, for local shopping and ice-cream.
The family live in the house and is available to give you information about the area and assist you should any need arise. They will be pleased to show you the amazing view from the tower and help you to find the typical trattoria which is not on the guide books yet or the small local producer where to buy the Vino Nobile di Montepulciano or the best pecorino cheese. The owner is always in his workshop and you can see him working and possibly have a talk about art.
No air conditioning, only fans in the bedrooms. Cats and other domestic pets are around the house.
A baby cot (child 0-2 years) can be added. Washing machine available with a small charge.
