LE MACCHIE ALTE

Le Macchie Alte is an estate of 420 hectares (a little over 1000 acres), which grows olives, cereals and forage, and breeds Maremman cattle, boar and Cinta Senese pigs. In the quiet of the hills, by a great oak tree, you'll find a lovely swimming pool. The wildlife reserve offers two nature trails, which you can explore on foot or on one of our horses. You can also book a massage or beauty treatment, or relax in the warm water of the Thermal Baths of Saturnia with whom we are affiliated. Three stone farmhouses offer twelve guest rooms, each with its own bathroom, restored with the greatest respect for the traditional architecture of rural Maremma. You won’t find a television here, but we have a beautiful room with fireplace to relax in peace and to chat with old friends or new ones you’ve made here. The livestock lives free range on the estate and is fed organically, without the use of pesticides or other chemical or genetically modified substances. Since 1995, ICEA (Institute for Ethical and Environmental Certification) has certified that the estate respects organic standards. In 2009 we obtained Ecolabel certification because we believe that the conservation and protection of the environment are inescapable responsibilities.
