LA LOCANDA DEL MORO

La Locanda del Moro is a traditional Tuscany country house located on top of a sunny and very panoramic hill near the beautiful medieval borough of Sillico, in the heart of Garfagnana, the green valley of the Lucca Province. It rises on a terraced area surrounded by grazing sheep and very ancient chestnuts forests. The wonderful panorama, look the Garfagnana Valley, the Appennino National Park mountains and the beautiful Apuan Alps making this place a very enchanted one. La Locanda del Moro is a stone faced walls, completely restructured using a traditional Tuscan materials: handmade cotto tiles, chestnuts wood and stones. From the panoramic swimming pool (6x12 meters), open from May to the end of September the guests can enjoy the peace and the surrounding mountains with the necessary privacy and comforts for a special and relaxing holiday. At La Locanda del Moro there are only two independent apartments: Il Lonfo and L’Ormasso located at ground floor. The interiors have been  restored using natural materials, walls and flooring are painted with vegetal colours only.  Each apartment has two bedrooms, bathroom, and dining room with kitchen equipped with dishwasher, microwave, sat lcd television and  radio cd player. Internet wi-fi is available for free. Original and traditional furniture complete the traditional atmosphere of the villa. The rental rates includes: heating costs, gas, electricity, towels, sheets, towels for the pool or Jacuzzi, tax, final cleaning costs. Each apartment has a private outdoor area for summer dining and evening barbecue enjoying the colourful sunset, the view of the valley and the silent of the nature that surrounds the property.  From September to May the guests can enjoy a 5 seats hot tub Jacuzzi. There is also a large outdoor dining area with sofa and 8 seats table in a panoramic point of the property. For children and adults we offer a playground area with tennis-table, football table, balls game and more, some mountain bikes are available for free for the guests and it is possible to hire some extra.   La Locanda del Moro offers to the guests unique dishes taken from the Tuscany  and Garfagnana traditional kitchen using local ingredients only. Under the panoramic veranda, once or twice a week, it is possible to taste farro soup, home-made pasta, local meet, mushrooms, “salame” and “pecorino” cheese with honey or home-made jams, the italian pizza cooked in the traditional fire wood oven, tasting very special olive oil, italian wine, grappa or traditional “nocino”, home-made cakes, biscuits and more (this service is available for minimum 4 persons). In alternative in the Sillico medieval borough (250 meters from La Locanda del Moro) there is a small family restaurant where it is possible to taste at lunch and dinner local dishes at reasonable prices. At La Locanda del Moro domestic animals are welcome, we ask only a little extra for the necessary cleaning. La Locanda del Moro is a very relaxing place where come back after an interesting visit of the historical cities of Lucca, Pisa and Florence, the Tirreno coasts with famous localities and the Liguria East coast with charming “Cinque Terre”. With some daily excursions the guests can explore the most beautiful corners of Garfagnana valley with charming historical boroughs like Barga, Vagli, Coreglia Antelminelli, Castiglione Garfagnana, Sillico and many others, extraordinary natural atmospheres of the Apuan Alps Park and the Appennino Tosco-Emiliano National Park.
