Beautiful Tuscan home, full of history and charm in the medieval village of Montecarlo. You will find spacious rooms with views and common areas.
The Antica Casa Naldi, typical Tuscan house with medieval origin and a lot of charm, is situated close to the walls in Montecarlo, one of the most beautiful villages of Lucca’s landscape, famous for its “Bianco di Montecarlo”, the local white wine and the excellent olive oil.
The house, recently restored, has maintained the original look, as the tiled floors, stone walls, wooden beams and at least the furnishings.
On the ground floor there is a charming kitchen with an ancient stone sink at guests’ disposal for breakfast; from a small terrace outside the kitchen there is access onto a private part of the medieval walls with a marvellous panoramic view of the Tuscan hills.
The bedrooms, double or triple, all with private bathroom, are bright and pleasant. Every room is called with a name of spices, just to remember “lo speziale” or rather the pharmacist of the village, because until the start of 1900 he had his laboratory just in the tavern of Casa Naldi.
There is also the marvellous tavern with its own court-yard, which can be used for small group meetings.
L’Antica Casa Naldi is a perfect place to discover the authentic Tuscany, living in a typical quiet village complete with its traditions, but near the most important cities of the region including Lucca, Pisa, Florence. The strategic location also allows you to reach quickly the Versilia coast and the mountains of Garfagnana.
